Press cuttings
In 1989, the Proms
were still known as the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts (as opposed to the
BBC Proms, which is the name used today) and at that time it was thought
that the BBC generally didn’t have a high profile.

one in the issue covering the first night. The cartoon was drawn without
anyone seeing me… |

The
Sunday Times saw that magazine and ‘followed the trend’ by
interviewing me and printing the only cheesy photo taken (23 July
1989). |
